About This Painting
Painted in studio at Glenborrowdale, Ardnamurchan in December 2005, during which the weather proved too difficult to work in. This weather and low temperatures inspired this painting of an imagined calm loch, ice cold water flowing over rock and snow covered hills. This painting started a series of others over a period of weeks, all now having found new homes.

Walking over the moor, coming across a hidden, secret loch, maybe some huge trout in it ? Painting based upon a hill loch near Ben Vorlich, South of Loch Earn, painted in studio from photographs taken in 1997, composition altered. There were, in fact, some big trout in it, I know because I caught one there the following summer.

Painted on location at Killin, Perthshire, looking upstream from above the bridge on the south bank of the river Dochart. Finished in studio due to weather conditions on wet November day 2006. The darkness of the day and the power of the river was an irresistible combination, a great chance to capture the Falls of Dochart in spate.
